I love the majesty, the hair, the dark background in this piece.  It all speaks to me of strength and power.  He does look confident, but who wouldn't?  After all, he is the King of Beasts!

It makes me think of yet another Disney movie, The Lion King.  I remember as a little girl seeing a movie called 'Born Free".  It made quite an impression on my little mind, and I have always loved animals both before and since then.  Whenever I see these guys I feel a sense of awe!
