Just like the song says it never rains.  Well, almost.  Except that one year, it rained so much the back country of San Diego County was green as far as the eye could see, it looked more like Ireland than San Diego.  I took a lot of reference photos then, and this painting is from one of those.

24x24 Angus Back Country Dreamin'

I titled this painting Back Country Dreamin' because this had to be the best dream a cow in San Diego County could have, with our current drought situation especially!

A beautiful peaceful scene with the greenest grasses and a volunteer stream of water coming off of the mountain, like it was doing everywhere taking that path of least resistance like water does.

I'm just starting my series on Highland cattle, this is the first one and it is phase one of the piece, where I have established placement on the canvas and some of the values.  I hope you like it, and please do join my email newsletter so you don't miss the next phase, or the next project.

It's 24x30 inches.  I love the expression, the questioning look on this one's face!
