This Texas Longhorn lived in Temecula, California.  I found a breeder a few years back and was able to take a number of reference photos that I liked, this one caught my eye right away.

This is number 5 of 30 paintings in 30 days.  I found on day 2 when I did the Happy Cows that the type of art panel I had was very slick for the painting to be done in one sitting, so for this panel I put a coat of primer (gesso) on and sanded it before painting this image.  It worked beautifully, I like painting on panels because they are smooth but it's nice to have some tooth for the paint to hang onto.
