"YouTube hates artists" thoughts and a picture of Joni's Jersey Girl
I listened to a video the other day by a popular You Tube artist, who often videos a painting he is working on, while doing a voice over with relevant information, usually for other artists, sometimes also for entertainment. The title of this video was "You Tube hates artists" and in it he describes how you tube is favoring cartoons and silly videos to serious artists who chose to stream videos, the videos are simply not being shown as options to subscribers, because their hits have gone down.
The world has been reduced to 'content' chasers, you have seen the silly videos that are made 'for entertainment' purposes only, just so they go viral and hoping for clicks and views.

This is a picture of a custom painting I did about 9 years ago called "Joni's Jersey Girl"
That's Joni and her husband, who drove all of the way from Arizona to pick their painting up!
I'm not a content chaser, but things have changed in the 'art world' because of the internet. More artists are online now, galleries have been closing for several years and during covid I'm pretty sure they were not considered 'essential'. (Since of course liquor stores and strip clubs were.)
That said, it's increasingly important for me to get to know you, people who love the work, a little better. How has the world changed for your business or world? Leave a comment below, introduce yourself if I don't know you, lurkers welcomed!!
